I think you vastly overestimate shadow controll, yes you have a blanket silence and a fear, but the fear is melee range and can be done by a heal priest too. Shadow has very bad controll over a fight. WebPriest are better defensively, are much better at healing and somewhat unintuitively a bit bulkier. Shamans are much more offensive to the point where ditching healing for just damage and support can be better and way more gear dependant.
