WebJun 5, 2013 · The three characters named in the book provide us with three keys to pursuing a prosperous soul: 1. The prosperous soul walks in the truth and love (Gaius, the beloved example, 1-8). As in all of John’s writings, truth is a central concept in 3 John. He mentions it in verses 1, 3 (twice), 4, 8, and 12, plus the world “true” in verse 12.
